Fiys: Mihanal lifted his nose to sniff at the air. He was fairly certain he was alone, but he could never be sure with how the trees broke up the wind. Sunlight dappled the bare ground and the leaves rustled quietly as a stiff breeze passed through the trees. Looking around curiously, Mihanal's ears twitched. He was too far from the river to hear it, but he knew it was somewhere to the North-East. Mihanal wagged his tail as he stood simply taking in his surroundings. He liked this place, but it would be even better if there was someone else here with him.
evildoggie: Dusty
I yawned lazily as I slowly got up from the small patch of dappled sunlight that had managed to penetrate throught the leafy canopy overhead. I stretched, and lifted my nose slightly to sniff the air, checking if there were any creatures that I could hunt. Instead, I got the opposite scent of what I wanted. A wolf, quite close to me. I sighed heavily with dissapointment, as I was hoping that I wouldn`t stumble across any other wolves. An itch started to tickle near my neck, so I started to scratch it. Oh, it felt so good. I nearly even forgot about the scent, and the fact that I`d have to either go away from the area or try to scare the other wolf away from it to get the peace and quiet that I had wanted.
I finished, and shook my fur, then decided to confront the other wolf and get him to go away. I wandered over to the scent and when the wolf came into view, I crept out and lunged forward, snarling and snapping, trying to either scare him away, or force him away. I would be willing to go with either one.
Fiys: Mihanal gave a startled yelp as a skinny wolf appeared from nowhere and lunged at him. He sidestepped away from the newcomer and backed off to examine her. She was awfully skinny. He wondered vaguely if she was eating enough.
"Is this your territory?" He asked quietly. He had no idea why she had attacked him, and his only guess was that he had accidentally invaded. If he could solve the problem without violence, he might be able to leave on good terms with the she-wolf. The tip of his tail wagged slightly, betraying the hope he had for a possible friendship.
evildoggie: Dusty
I growled as my hackles rose, and I said, with a snarl; "This isn`t my land, but prepare to fight to the death if you don`t go away."
I slashed my claws out, but missed after trying to bat away a fly that had buzzed over my head. I ended up in a tangled heap on the ground, but got up, and got ready to pounce and attack him, but in the middle of it I saw a big fat juicy rabbit right near me. I just couldn`t resist! I wasn`t even thinking of what I`d do with it after, with this other wolf around.
I swiveled around, forgetting about the other wolf that was right next to me, and pounced on it. I was on top of it, and it shot out from underneath me. I sort of twisted myself around awkwardly, and got a hold of it`s tail before it could get away, while I was still in a weird position. I sat down, with it still kicking around while it was suspended in the air by my teeth. I found it`s neck, and sank my teeth into it.
I was soon relieved from the constant strain of the live rabbit, and rewarded with a fresh kill. But now I had to deal with this other wolf. And before he could get any ideas, I said; "And don`t even think about you getting any."
eliezha: Casty plodded along, her tail dragging on the leaf-strewn ground in a sad manner. Eyes unfocused, reliving terrible scenes over and over in her small head, she stumbled in any direction her numb paws carried her. Crunch, Crunch, Crunch went the leaves as her toes smashed them, but they did not bring her from the dismal thoughts that clouded her brain.
"Mother," the young pup whispered hoarsely, having howled her lungs out earlier, while hope had still seared in her heart. Now, nothing stirred, for her mother had left her four days ago. She had left to go hunting, and had left her daughter in their den - on the edge of the Scrublands. For three days, Casty had loyally waited, but her mother hadn't returned. Frenzied with pain and sorrow, she had searched and searched, but hadn't found a trace. Now, wandering around aimlessly seemed what the little pup was bent on doing.
It took a few moments for her to notice the smell of other wolves. Blinking away confusion, she lifted her head, and saw the pelts of two larger wolves a few tail-lengths away. Frantically, she backed away from them, but in an effort to learn anything, she stopped and gazed at them coldly. Where they killers? It seemed they were having a scuffle, and so it may be that they were capable, or just angry and cruel. Blankly, she watched the female catch a rabbit, and hunger tugged at Casty's tummy suddenly, surprising her. She was hungry.
evildoggie: Dusty
I sniffed the air, and smelt a wolf pup, so I whipped around to see a tiny wolf pup. She looked so helpless, and hungry. I wasn`t going to give up my kill, though. She could find her own things to eat. I was now thinking about leaving, since a wolf that could potentially steal my food was right next to me.
I growled at the pup, baring my teeth. "You shouldn`t be staying around here! The only wolves you will find will be either rogues, who will kill you, or loners, who will quite possible also kill you. Find yourself a pack to stay in, or perish like all of the other lost wolf pups." I turned around a bit more, so I was sort of facing both wolves. I waited for Mihanal to make a move. I didn`t care much about the pup, because she wouldn`t do much. Well, she wouldn`t do anything to affect me at least, I thought that.
eliezha: "What's the difference?" Casty asked boldly, quivering on the spot at the female's rough words, her tail curled beneath her. If they both would kill her, what was the point of giving them different names? Cruel or heartless would be a better title, she thought bitterly. Snapping out of nowhere, the pup's sorrow seemed to morphing in to anger, seeping through her light grey, fluffy pelt.
"What is the use of a pack?" she scoffed, thoughts of the only thing she wanted and needed bubbling up. Her cold gaze flitted to Mihanal, and then back to Dusty. "Are you two a pack?" she asked, curiousity loosening the grip of anger on her. Having never bothered with knowing of anything out of her own little world, Casty was unsure as to what made up a pack, or whether there were any nearby. Would everything change if she joined a pack? There was no one to answer her questions except for these two hostile strangers, so they might as well answer her.
evildoggie: Dusty
"The use of a pack...Let me think...For a puny pup like you, a pack would be the thing to save your scrawny butt." "And no, I am not in a pack with anyone, nor am I going to join one any time soon." I scowled, then stopped to have a munch on my rabbit. I stopped eating it when it had nearly nothing on it. My muzzle was covered in blood, and I had eaten my fill.
I yawned, then straightened up again. I was in a better mood now, but still quite annoyed. I was thinking about leaving the area, maybe to Ash Forest. I didn`t know if there were any packs there, so I guess I`d find out. I glanced towards Mihanal, and he still wasn`t doing anything. I sighed heavily, and scratched a flea that had crawled up to my neck. I didn`t like fleas one bit.
Fiys: "A pack offers more than just survival." Mihanal cut in. This she-wolf was going to give the poor pup a bad outlook on life. "A pack is like an extended family, many wolves come together and help each other." Mihanal shot the gorging she-wolf a frown. She obviously wasn't going to share with the starving little pup, so he turned to her. "Where is your family, little one? Do you need help getting back to them?" He gazed at her, trying to find the answers in her hungry eyes. He ached to comfort her in some way, but he didn't even know her name, let alone her story.
evildoggie: Dusty
I glanced toward Mihanal, then at the meat, then Casty. I thought for a bit. "I can`t use this meat anymore, since there is hardly anything on it but bones. Maybe it will be enough for that pup." So I tossed it over to Casty. I don`t like giving things to other creatures, but what was the use of keeping things that I don`t need?
I resumed to my thinking. "Maybe I could make a den near the border of Ash Forest, so I could hunt at McCool Forest but spend the rest of the day in Ash Forest...Hmmm...."
I came back to reality, looking at both wolves, then sat down. I was sure that Mihanal wouldn`t attack me when he was trying to comfort the pup, since that would spook her away, so I didn`t always have to stand up. Anyway, I needed a rest. Time to catch my breath, instead of catching rabbits.
Flame: Lays under the shade of the dead forest. Thinking and watching. Starts to howl the beautiful song my mother sang to me as a pup.
eliezha: "I have no family, and it's going to stay like that, until I find my mother," she humphed, turning her nose up at the thought of a pack. A family? Pfft, no. Her mother and her mother alone was her family, and like she had said, she didn't need any other family.
Though, she did need some food. Giving Dusty a dubious look, she edged forward and pulled the pile of bones and bits of remaining flesh to her side. Gnawing on them, she listened to Dusty speak of her plans to go to the other forests.
"Why not stay here?" she asked, taking a moment from her tedious stripping the rabbit of any meat. Weren't all the forests the same? Aside from the Ash Forest of course - it was dead. While contemplating this, her ears pricked, picking up a noise. "What's that? Another wolf?" she asked, distigishing it as a howl. A rogue? A loner? Or her mother? No, she dismissed the idea. Casty knew her mother's voice, and that wasn't it.
evildoggie: Dusty
I looked at Casty with scorn, and replied. "I would have considered staying here if there wasn`t as much wolves around. Didn`t you hear that other wolf? I`m starting to think that this place is as crowded as McCool Forest." But then again, this place probably doesn`t have as many as McCool forest, since that was probably an exaggeration...and the abundance of rabbits here is a plus...
I yawned. I was tired. And sick of sleeping outside in the cold. I decided to re-think my plans of where to go, and dig out a den so I could be warmer at night. I started to seriously consider staying here. This was the nicest place for miles, although I would have to trek a while over to the southern river for a drink...Agh, I could think about this later! But then again...Time spent in reconnaissance is seldom wasted...

I growl as the rain comes down, making my fur wet. I didn`t like rain. Except for the fact that the fleas didn`t like it, so I can get a break from the itching. Just before the scent got washed away, I smelt a pup nearby. I sighed. More wolves! This hasn`t been a good night. And look, the sun is rising, too, and I don`t even have a place to sleep! I thought unhappily. I decided to leave. Casty and Mihanal weren`t doing anything. Just sitting there doing nothing, while getting drenched by the rain.
I wondered where I would find somewhere to sleep, and be protected by the weather. I passed the hollow where the sleeping pup was, and glanced over to her. She looked warm in there. "Curse this weather, I have to look for a warm dry place to stay now!" I said under my breath. I gave one final envious look at the comfortable pup then trudged on.
I soon stumbled upon a hole quite small and squishy, but big enough for me to fit inside. I wriggled in. The den was much roomier once I was inside. I sniffed around to make sure it was abandoned. It was, luckily for me. I curled up and tried to get some sleep.
Flame: Sunset fell and i wake, And smell the fresh scent of a new wolf. Growls and wonders if i should make this my territory. But i wont be this small forever... HMMMMM. Follows the scent, And comes to a hole with the wolf in it.......

I woke up from a dream about getting chased by hunters. I saw the pup peek into the new den I had found. I growled, baring my teeth. "Get away little pup, or do you want to get killed?" I got up to my full height, having to lower my head a little bit because of the slightly low roof of the den.
My hackles rose, and I snapped at her. How dare she look into my den! I thought that it would be nice to have a nice easy, resonably sized pup for breakfast. Maybe I could join the cannibals! I scratched a flea from my coat. They are back? I thought crossly. Weren`t they washed away by the rain? Or maybe that pup had fleas and gave them to me. I growled with frustration.
Flame: Growls, My eyes glaring feircly. You cant hurt me. Bares teeth, now VERY sharp and rather large, reaching near full size. My muscles kinda show on my front legs and show on my back legs, And my stomach and chest looking muscular. Thinks: ''Ok, Im not joining with this wolf.'' Says loudly and firmly: "This is my territory. Get out unless you want to join. Snarls and snaps the air.
evildoggie: Dusty
I raised my eyebrow. Pah! She was challenging me! "So you want a fight?" I bared my teeth, my hackles rising. "This is my territory, if anyone`s." And I lunged forward. "I will never join a pack!" I said, lunging forward. She is quite a big wolf, I thought, slightly nervous. But my pride got the better of me. This is loner territory. And if anyone was going to claim this area, it would be me. This is my den now, and I live here. I will fight. I bit her front left leg, sinking my teeth in a far as I could into it. Size is no match to experience.
Flame: Snarls and bites neck, Thinks: She DARE Challenge ME! I Have come from a long line of fighters, HA!" Bites and thrashes angrily Into her neck, AS hard as i can. Keeps chomping bites her muzzle then throws her. "Get, My Territory now." BACK OFF...
evildoggie: Dusty
I yelped, as pain shot up my neck and face, but snarled, getting back to my feet. "You get out of MY territory." I ignored the blood flowing out of my wounds, and pinned her down. I was angry. Really angry. I had just chosen a nice den, and now someone was trying to kick me out of it. Well, I thought. Why should I give a rat`s arse about that other wolf? This wasn`t her territory. She thought it was, but it wasn`t, I thought.
I only realised the pain from my wounds when I had her pinned down, and my blood from my neck dripped into her chest. I snarled, then sank my teeth into her neck, bravely fighting on to try to drive this wolf away. I took her paw into my mouth, and dragged her away a few metres, and backed away, and fled back to my den. This wolf was actually quite strong. It would be a better option to wait here, in the den. If she continued to battle, fine by me. I was going to fend for my den, since she could already have planned to take it over with packmates while we were fighting.
Flame: Lunges back, And snaps at her, Takes skull in mouth and threatens to CRUSH TEMPLES....
Give up yet you pup? growls with her in my mouth, Near crushing her skull in severe pain.
